This year the traditional Viennese Christmas fair ("Altwiener Christkindlmarkt"), situated in one of the most beautiful places in the heart of Vienna, will open its doors to visitors for the twentiethfirst time. You will enjoy exquisite craftwork, special treats typical for Christmas time in Vienna and a varied cultural programme.

In the mornings the "Punch and Judy"-shows are very popular with the younger children. This year craftsmen will hold a daily demonstration of how they that make their craft products on the stage under the Christmas tree.

In the late afternoons musicians will contribute to the Christmas atmosphere and visitors will enjoy this charming and beautifully lit square, surrounded by the famous "Viennese Palais", the "Austrian fountain" and the "Schottenkirche".

This year the proceeds of the Christmas fair will be charitable donations to "Österreichische Lungenunion".
